Alexander Karpukhin is a head of employment law practice of Moscow office of the firm, also he is responsible for M&A and corporate law practice.  Mr. Karpukhin has extensive 18+ years’ experience in providing legal support to international and local companies. Before joining the firm Mr. Karpukhin has been working for an Asian financial company as a strategic advisor and before that he used to work as a leading lawyer in top tier international law firms in Moscow and St. Petersburg.  Also Mr. Karpukhin worked as in-house counsel in a private oil&gas industry company.

Mr. Karpukhin advises on general corporate and commercial matters, as well as M&A. His scope of work includes corporate restructurings, JVs, share purchase transactions, etc. Mr. Karpukhin assist foreign investors in structuring of Russian operations and implementation of the local investment projects.

Alexander Karpukhin is well known around the market for the labor and employment expertise.  His experience includes court disputes in the field of labor and employment, assistance in contract terms negotiations both to the employers and executives and support of the clients on on-going basis in their dealing with various labor matters.  A notable angle of practice is work with high-level executives in negotiating their compensation and contract terms, as well as terms and conditions of exiting the companies.  Mr. Karpukhin also actively supports clients in regard to trade union related matters (both strategic advice and disputes) and represents them in collective negotiations.

Data privacy matters is also an important aspect of Mr. Karpukhin’s practice.  He provides general advice, develops and adjusts local policies and rules to the requirements of local legislation, audits the legal aspects of data privacy matters in companies, assists companies in the process of Roskomnadzor’s audit and represents them in courts to challenge the state audit results and resolutions of Roskomnadzor.

Mr. Karpukhin graduated, with honors, Baikal State university of Economy and Law (the city of Irkutsk) and started his legal practice in 2003. Also Mr. Karpukhin has a degree in finance (financial management) of «Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation».

He is a native Russian speaker and speaks fluent English.
